Tottenham keeper Carlo Cudicini has vowed to get his career back on track at White Hart Lane and is ready to push Heurelho Gomes for the number one jersey next season.
Cudicini was lucky to escape death following a motorbike accident last November and has spent the last eight months in extensive rehab.
The Italian keeper was travelling to the club's training ground when his superbike collided with a car and he fractured both wrists and his pelvis.
Cudicini, though, has managed to make a full recovery and played for Tottenham in their pre-season tour to America last week.
The former Chelsea keeper is now hoping to impress Harry Redknapp over the next few weeks and show he is still good enough to compete at the highest level.
Cudicini said: "Everything is perfect at the moment. I feel fine.
"Of course, after eight months out, there was a bit of emotion at going back onto the pitch, but it was a nice feeling to be back and having the chance to get minutes on the pitch. That's what pre-season's all about."
Cudicini has worked closely with Tottenham's goalkeeping coach Tony Parks in his attempts to regain his best form and knows he could be called upon this season as Spurs prepare to play in the Champions League for the first time in the club's history.
Cudicini added: "We split the rehabilitation into two parts, the first was in the summer and Parksy did a great job with the physio team and the doctor and now it's the second part, hard training and going into matches.
"At the moment, fingers crossed, everything is going well."
